Do you want to spend a period of your professional carrier as a researcher in one of the major research bodies in Italy?

To start the application process, the Principal Investigators are required to have the following qualifications:

ERC Starting Grant:

1. The Principal Investigator must have been awarded his/her first PhD at least 2 and up to 12 years prior to the publication date of the call for proposal of the ERC Starting Grant;
2. It’s normally expected that applicants will have produced at least one important publication without the participation of the PhD supervisor and they should also be able to demonstrate a promising track-record of early achievements appropriate to their research field and career stage, including significant publications.

ERC Advanced Grant:

1. The Principal Investigator must have a track-record of significant research achievements in the last 10 years;
2. Normally applicants have to show as at least 10 publications as senior authors in the major international peer-reviewed multidisciplinary scientific journals, and/or in the leading international peer-reviewed journals and peer-reviewed conferences proceedings of their respective fields;
3. In the research fields where publication of monographs is norm ( e.g. humanities and social science), the applicants are expected to have 3 major research monographs, of which at least one is translated into another language.
