IDEAS is an instrument of the Seventh Research Framework Programme of the European Commission.

It aims to enhance dynamism, creativity and excellence of European research at the frontiers of knowledge.

This will be done through the support to research projects submitted by researchers on the basis of their own initiatives and conducted in all fields by individual teams competing at European level.

ENEA is a public agency operating in the fields of energy, the environment and new technologies to support Country’s competitiveness and sustainable development. Its research activities are carried out by five Departments:

• Advanced Physical Technologies and New Materials
• Biotechnologies, Agro-industry and Health Protection
• Energy Technologies, Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Saving
• Nuclear Fusion and Fission and Related Technologies
• The Environment, Global Changes and Sustainable Development.

ENEA proposes itself to researchers worldwide as host for their IDEAS projects, offering them their own laboratories, facilities, collaboration and support, together with its 50 years experience and its know-how as science and technology centre of excellence.
